There is nothing as important as filling yourself up with positivity. We could go into the week ready to slay it on Monday and by Friday, feel totally uninspired and beaten up. From Beyonce to Steve Jobs, there are so many inspiring and quotable leaders that are killing their field but also ones we may overlook. While I love giving you lessons I’m learning, today I wanted to start your week off with mantras from five brilliant SELF-MADE millionaires that prove anything is possible if you believe in yourself.  Now I consider these people my family (although they don’t know it yet), so soak up the wisdom of my ballin’ relatives and get inspired too.

Ming lee snob life millionaire mantra

Known for her prominent hair brand Snob Life, Ming climbed to the top of the beauty empire by starting out with $500 and a dream. In just over four years my Instagram cousin has hustled hard to make a name for herself by selling hair, opening a salon in Atlanta, publishing a book, launching a lipstick line and so much more. She has truly built a bootstrap a multi-million dollar brand. I follow her so closely because she is never NOT working. In everything she does she sees an opportunity to advance herself and her business which produced incredible success, respect and expertise. For example, she started going by Ming Lee simply because it grabbed attention. What black girl do you know named Ming? Now you remember her name AND her product. My cousin is a genius.

“Nobody knew who I was until I made them listen. Sometimes you have to make people listen. You have to actually go hard for yourself. You have to play like you’re losing all the time. Even if you’re winning you play like you’re losing and stay humble because there is always someone coming for your spot.”

Gary Vaynerchuk millionaire mantras

You know that loud uncle that may let you get away with stuff but gives you a slap in the face lesson to go with it? That’s Uncle Gary. Gary Vaynerchuk is a self-proclaimed “serial entrepreneur” that got his start in his family’s wine business in his 20s. In just five years he grew the company from $3 million to $60 million, turning it into a digital empire on and offline. He is die-hard committed to discipline, no excuses and working your butt off for what you want out of life. I first discovered him on Youtube through his famous channel #AskGaryVee where he answers questions that budding entrepreneurs and professionals need answers to.

“The people who are scared to fail stay in a certain comfort zone and only hit a certain level. Nobody [successful] you ever met got there without the hard work. Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, what do I want to do everyday for the rest of my life? Do that thing.”

eric thomas millionaire mantras

There is so much that could be said about Eric Thomas. For over 20 years he has been committed to his goal of helping others to stop settling and going after their goals with laser sharp focus and passion. After living a spiraling life of homelessness and a lack of motivation, Uncle Eric made a conscious decision to create a life he knew he deserved. From intense seminars to come to Jesus speeches on his Youtube channel EVERY week, he has now built a million dollar company that inspires people to do better and live better. Once Uncle Gary snatches your life, Uncle Eric will finish it. He’s the best out there.

“You can’t cheat the grind. It knows how much you have invested and won’t give you anything you haven’t worked for. You can’t sleep. Broke people sleep. You got to be willing to sacrifice sleep because if you sleep you may miss the opportunity to be successful.”

Baddie Auntie Sophia Amoruso
sophia amoruso millionaire mantra

Like Uncle Gary, Auntie Sophia is the cool aunt that you always want to get sushi with and spill your life to. Coined the founder and original #Girlboss, she spent a lot of her earlier years very lost and confused of who she wanted to be. Eating out of trashcans and hopping from couch to couch, she began selling merchandise on EBay to make extra cash. This small idea transformed into her own powerhouse business, NastyGal. Today she is one of the richest self-made women in America and proves that no past can determine the future you can create yourself.

“Just do it. Stop and listen, then keep moving. Evolve. Don’t be too attached to the result. Sometimes you end up with something even better than you set out to accomplish. The best wisdom is earned through experience, particularly mistakes. I think we as a culture spend too much time looking at role models or other fascinating lives instead of spending time creating our own.”

Step-Brother Lewis Howes

2014 Lewis Howes, millionaire

The former All-American football star left college at an early age to pursue his dream for professional football. Little did he know that dream would be cut short after an accident that left him unable to play football on a professional level ever again. Depressed, lost and uninspired, Lewis decided that he could not continue to survive without a purpose. Losing his identity in football guided him to seek a new and driven one, resulting in several successful businesses and building the brand School of Greatness – a book, podcast and show that sits down with the world’s greatest leaders. Lewis is always my voice of reason and motivates the world to find their truth and live in it every single day.

“Each day you’re presented with a choice. You can either keep your greatness hidden under a pile of fears, regrets, and excuses, or you can let it out. So the best way to begin unlocking inner greatness is to make a conscious choice to live out the rest of today with the best you [can give].”

These millionaires show that you can do ANYTHING if you take the chance on yourself. So will you?
